Located just minutes from downtown Panama City and strategically located across the Canal, it is a complex of 120 hectares and more than 200 buildings of what was, in the past, Clayton military base.
City of Knowledge has today a thriving international community in which the business, academic, scientific and humanistic collaboration has as its horizon a more humane and sustainable development, based on knowledge.
The knowledge management platform focuses on the empowerment of innovative and competitive abilities of the users who share the Campus. UCI Panama office is located within this enclosure, as an ally for the integration of knowledge for sustainable development through the management of cooperation projects, along with our School.
In 1995, Mireya Moscoso symbolically handed the keys for Clayton to the City of Knowledge, to start the pioneering experience of being a regional benchmark in the field of knowledge management, through innovation.
City of Knowledge is composed of a living environment and community services, with recreational, cultural and corporate spaces, used daily by more than 5000 people and with a commitment to unique connectivity in the region.
Led by Dr. Jorge Arosemena, with eco-friendly models, City of Knowledge is approaching a concept of “Sustainable City” and has currently more than 220 institutions in its network of partners, 37 strategic alliances, thousands of institutions divided into areas of work: Information and Communication Technologies, Life Sciences, Environmental Management, Human Development, Business Management, Entrepreneurial Culture, and Global Services.
